A Steadfast Commitment

The Odd Fellows are dedicated to the philosophy that an educated society is essential to a healthy community. That’s why we host the concerts and public events that you have enjoyed over the years at the Odd Fellows Hall in Half Moon Bay.
When you make donations at our events, your dollars directly support our Scholarship Program, which for decades has helped locals who otherwise may have been denied post-secondary educational opportunities.
Help Us Help Others
Coastside youth are depending on us to meet their educational goals in 2021 and beyond.
We’re hoping to quickly raise $10,000 to retain five scholarships. Without these additional funds, we will have to cut our programs by half at a time when they are needed more than ever.

Greetings, Odd Fellows! This is a later than planned report on the 2019-2020 scholarships awarded by the Youth Services Committee (YSC). As a result of you showing up and working at our concerts, clothing swap, raffles as well as your direct contributions, we donated a total of $13,000 to ten Half Moon Bay High School graduates and three scholars already attending college.
Why donate for an elevator?

Why I just gave $100 to the Odd Fellows and, if you can, why you should too.
In high school in the late 1960s, I was allowed to leave class a little early so two guys I chose could carry me in my wheelchair upstairs to my next class. Needless to say, I was popular with the football jocks because they wanted to join me ditching class. Was this equal access? The question never really occurred to me. But 20 years later the Americans with Disabilities Act changed everything, including changing my mind about how I get around.
Message from NG Marty Steiger
We on the Coastside are part of a focused, local, community movement, and will continue to grow as long as we tell others about who we are and what we do, and keep having fun activities.
Our whole world is on 'hold' right now, but the lodge continues to grow for the future! Our long, long road to an ADA elevator and restroom is approaching its finishing line!
We are also tending to the past by improving the Odd Fellows section of the Pescadero Mount Hope cemetery, and we will continue to tend to our Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows cemetery.
Please know that as soon as it is safe, we will come together and renew our commitment to our social mission, and we look forward to you and yours being a part of this.
2020-2021: Building Upgrades
Check out our progress to improve and modernize access to the Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows Hall. With increased accessibility and modern amenities, we can continue to provide educational and creative programming to our community.
And it’s a double win because proceeds from these events then help us fund scholarships to local high school students who may not otherwise be able to continue their education.
The pandemic has temporarily halted our events, but when we're back, we'll be back safer — and more accessible — than ever.

Odd Fellows on Hold. Stay Healthy!
Following the advice of the Governor's office and San Mateo County Health, HMB Odd Fellows is canceling or postponing all public shows and events through mid 2021.
The safety and health of our audience, members, performers and community is our highest priority, and we believe this is the most responsible action to take at this time.
We will post further announcements as the situation changes and, as always, you can check the website for updates.
We wish you and your loved ones the best of health during this critical time. Thank you for your continued support.
