Past Grand Ed Haussler passed away on November 14th, 2016, at 7:10 pm just as the fog cleared over the skies of Half Moon Bay revealing one the brightest full moons in 82 years guiding his way home. We will all miss his zest for life, his humor, his salty and uncensored conversation without it being offensive. Ed was one of a kind.

Edward Haussler was born in San Francisco on August 27th, 1935. He passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016. He’s lived in San Francisco, along the peninsula and in Half Moon for his 81 years. Edward served four years in the US Navy during the Korean War.

He raised a family of four sons, David, Dennis, Douglas and Darrell and later adopted a daughter Victoria and a step daughter Christine. Ed was a grandfather and great grandfather.

Ed had a distinguished career as a construction electrician for 40 years, a member of IBEW local 617 and was a member of the Retirees Club.
He shared his life with his wife, Diane Burns-Haussler in Half Moon Bay California for the past 21 years. They enjoyed traveling together in the states and abroad. Their life together was made rich and full by the great love they shared.

One of his greatest pleasures was riding his motorcycle. Whether it was up and down the California coast or exploring the roads of the northwestern states, he and his Harley Davidson were a blissful expression of joy as he enjoyed this country’s beauty.

Ed was also a member of the local order of Odd Fellows, Ocean View Lodge 143, Half Moon Bay. He was a past Noble Grand and was instrumental in helping to promote many of the programs that this fellowship supports.

Ed lived his life with humility and grace. He’d learned to take care of himself while availing himself to helping others.

He lived in gratitude for all he had and all that he’d gleaned from his life’s experiences. Ed was a teacher for many, passing on encouragement and support.

Ed ashesDiane's update January 21, 2017:
Ed’s ashes have been transformed into a beautiful piece of art. It sits on a lighted base so that they will shine always, a symbol of the light he brought to my life and so many others.
