Young Frankenstein was a HUGE success! Thanks to Gail Evenari and all involved with the Film Committee. It was a joy to see so many generations filling the Lodge with enthusiastic smiles and laughter.
Audience members were graciously greeted by Evelyn de Souza and the aroma of freshly made popcorn. Justin Gabaldon made a TUB of popcorn to the delight of young and old. Justin also created a slideshow of upcoming events at Odd Fellows shown before the film began. Brilliant idea!
Young Frankenstein is a classic comedy enjoyed by all… AND... there were some surprises… Frau Blücher arrived in costume and makeup so convincing, it took me a while to realize she was our own Diane Burns-Haussler.
After the film, Gail Evenari inteviewed our special guest, Karen Wilder, Gene's wife of 27 years. Karen answered questions from the audience. Kathy Bristol presented her with a gift bag of goodies from the Lodge, Personal FX and the rest of the local coast. But the big surprise was when Karen Wilder and R’Moshe performed a reprise of the song and dance routine “Puttin' on the Ritz” (as done in the film by Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle) complete with hats and canes!
