Speakers Series: The Art of Adventure

Description
A career as a National Geographic Photographer
Local Odd Fellows member Gordon Wiltsie, a veteran explorer, writer and National Geographic photographer, will show pictures and talk about what he has learned from his long career documenting some of the wildest places and cultures on earth.
The talk will cover the span of his adventures, beginning as a college student vagabonding in Europe and Asia and moving quickly onwards to dramatic mountaineering, skiing and polar dogsledding expeditions, often accompanied by the leading climbers and explorers of our times.
He will take us to places as varied as the North and South Poles, up remote granite cliffs that took weeks to climb and galloping across Mongolian steppes with the descendants of Genghis Khan. It will be an evening to be remembered.
Preceding the presentation and starting at 5:30, Gordon will also be hosting an exhibit celebrating the work of other highly-talented Coastside photographers who join him each month to show pictures and share passions at the Odd Fellows Photo Rendezvous.
He will also be signing copies of his acclaimed book, “To the Ends of the Earth, Adventures of an Expedition Photographer.”
Admission is $10. Seating is limited. Please reserve. Your ticket admits you to the reception preceding this talk.
