Climate Change Solutions for a Carbon Economy

Public Events
Monday, June 17, 2019 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Half Moon Bay Library

Our last Odd Fellows Speakers’ Series was based upon the book, Drawdown, by Paul Hawken and featured the topic of climate change and what can still be done to address this impending crisis. Whether you attended that event of not, please consider joining us for this presentation at the HMB Library. Tickets are free.

The San Mateo County Chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby is presenting a community event on carbon removal as a solution to the climate change crisis. The focus of the presentation will be on how can we build a “new carbon economy” that sequesters more carbon than it emits. This free event will explore the scientific, business, and policy opportunities for transforming carbon from a waste back into a valuable asset that can spark a wave of innovation and economic growth aligned with achieving our climate goals.

Noah Deich, Executive Director of Carbon180, will be the featured speaker. His presentation will touch on these key topics:

  • What is a carbon-negative economy?
  • Why is it important?
  • What is the state of innovative carbon negative pathways today?
  • What is the business and policy landscape?

Doors open at 6:00, the presentation will begin at 6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
