Film Night: NOMADS OF THE STEPPE

Description
For thousands of years the nomads of Mongolia have roamed the Steppe, or high prairie, embracing a culture that includes Shamanism, Throat Singing and Nadam. Filmmaker Warren Haack has crafted a documentary that celebrates this culture, including interviews with three generations of Kazakh Eagle Hunters, a Shaman who offers her thoughts on why California is on fire, and a man who spent winter in a cave at a Buddhist Monastery to learn how to deal with his anger.
Now the past is poised to catch up with the present as technology envelops this country, and young people move into town.
Come see this work in progress, including a Q&A with the filmmaker afterwards.
