An Afternoon with Dexter + Franz

Instrumental duo Dexter+Franz are film/tv composer John Dexter Marston and producer/engineer/multi-instrumentalist Mike Franz Novak. With a minivan packed full of analog synths, rhythm boxes, guitars and a tape machine, the duo retreated to a house in California’s high desert during the summer of 2022 to record the songs that would become their debut album, Flamingo Heights. Combining their love for early 1980s ambient, lounge music and Meddle era Pink Floyd psychedelia, Flamingo Heights is a meditation in minimalism and a soundtrack for long hikes through lush landscapes.
